A CSX freight train hit a vehicle on Hanover Road early Friday morning, which will cause disruptions to the MARC train’s Camden Line this afternoon.

According to a CSX spokesperson, the incident occurred at around 3:15 a.m., and there were no injuries to the crew. The vehicle was unoccupied.

“The driver disregarded the grade crossing warning lights and bells, his car was struck by the freight train, and it became wedged under the train, which complicated removing the car and reopening the tracks,” an alert from the Maryland Department of Transportation said. The tracks have since been reopened.

Several trains on the Camden Line will not operate this afternoon due to the incident, according to the alert, including Train 848, which departs at 3:30 p.m. from Union Station; Train 850, which departs at 4:13 p.m. from Union Station; Train 854, which departs at 5:22 p.m. from Union Station; and Train 855, which departs at 4:45 p.m. from Dorsey.
